I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist & Psychoanalyst registered with the Health Care Professions Council and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. In addition I am a member of the British Society of Psychoanalysis and the International Psychoanalytic Association.
I am registered with all of the main private healthcare insurers as a provider of therapy including the BUPA Mental Health and Wellbeing Therapist Network.

I have over 25 years experience of offering brief as well as open-ended therapy to a wide range of people experiencing a very diverse range of problems that include fear, anxiety, stress, loss, low mood or depression as well as relationships problems. This is not an exhaustive list of the types of problems that can be helped by the therapies that I offer in my practice.

Continuing to growing my therapy skills has been a longstanding feature of my work leading me to go on to train as a Psychoanalyst. This means that I can offer a variety of types of psychotherapy with proven effectiveness shaped to suit the individual needs people bring.

My work in a variety of adult psychological therapy services in the NHS includes over ten years experience working as a Consultant service lead. In this role I led and developed adult primary care psychology therapy services.

Brief therapies I offer, include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling. As a psychoanalyst trained at the internationally recognised centre of excellence the Institute of Psychoanalysis I also work with people in long term intense psychotherapy or full psychoanalysis.All of my work is supervised.

Commitment to continuing development and growth for my clients and myself is central to my approach to my work.

A long standing commitment to training a variety of professions in the field of mental health includes workwith the University of Surrey Doctoral Clinical Psychology programme for some years offering teaching and supervision. I have further developed my work in Interpersonal therapy having qualified as a Supervisor and now Trainer in this type of treatment via the NHS recognised British registering body IPTUK. My current NHS work involves supervising some of the the work of therapists working in primary care services. More recently an aspect of my practice has been working as part of a course team at the Tavistock Clinic contributing to two of the NHS psychotherapy trainings that take place there.
